Since 2008, there have been two licenced oral anti-thyroid medications for treating feline hyperthyroidism in the UK; Felimazole (Dechra Veterinary Products) containing methimazole and Vidalta (Intervet Schering-Plough), a novel sustained release carbimazole preparation. The aims of this study were to investigate their efficacy when used once-daily as assessed by circulating total thyroxine (T4) concentrations.
