Canine Low Iodine Diet
This diet is designed to reduce the total daily iodine intake to < 50 mg. It is used prior to radioiodine (131I) therapy to reduce total body and thyroid iodine stores resulting in an increased uptake of 131I by differentiated thyroid tumors.
