| Sammy came to us with a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism. Her thyroid scan confirmed she was hyperthyroid and also revealed evidence of an enlarged heart. Her chest X-rays confirmed fluid in her chest (pleural effusion) due to congestive heart failure |

| Following an ultrasound to define the nature of her heart condition, "Sammy" was started on heart medications to clear up the fluid in her chest. |
|
|
|
She was then given her radioiodine injection |
| "Sammy's" chest radiographs performed several days later confirmed a resolution of her pleural effusion. (see picture above) |

|
With the radioiodine starting to work in her system and the fluid gone from her lungs, she was on her way to recovery! Eating and feeling great she was looking forward to seeing her human and going home!
